Design
Many Oak Framed Garage variations are available to suit different individuals tastes and requirements. The design will firstly consider the number of bays required. Then consider the required width, height and depth of those bays. These bays will be affected by the size of any intended vehicles or any further ancillary uses our customer may have in mind, such as stores of utiity areas.
The Roof
Roof shape significantly affects the appearance of an oak framed garage, as does the choice of roof covering. We can construct gable ended, hipped and barn-hipped roofs, supplying the roof tile of your choice. Our roof tiles range from an economical plain tile, to machine made and handmade clay plain tiles; or slates. More options are available on request. The very traditional characteristic of oak framed garages means our customers often select a reclaimed roof tile. This gives their building an established look from day one.
Cladding
We normally install feather edge boarding as cladding to our oak framed garages. The boarding is available in treated softwood, Larch, Douglas Fir and Oak. The Cladding can be stained, or utilise the natural resilience of the timber to let it gradually silver over time.
Room Above
We add rooms in the roof space above an oak garage on request, usually to provide leisure space, storage or additional accommodation. We build staircases, positioned externally or internally, to provide access to this room. Then install floors and add any windows or doors that are required.
Build
Chartwell Oak Building’s skilled construction team will assemble your oak framed garage on site. Firstly raising the oak frame, adding any stud work and joinery, and cladding the building. Our roofing team will prepare the roof and install your chosen roof covering.
We are able to undertake the groundworks to prepare the footings, brickwork and landscaping. We can also undertake any internal fit-outs to complete your project.
